Dark Weaves

B&N, Amazon
Warning! There may be spoilers, go back if you don't want to read!

I wrote Dark Weaves with some specific ideas in mind. It took me over a year. It is my first attempt at a full-length novel. Maybe I tried too many things with it, maybe I didn't succeed in carrying out my wishes, maybe a lot of people will completely hate the book. I don't expect everyone to like the writing style.

Lack of detail
Yes. This was done intentionally. Many authors describe every little detail that goes on in the book. You see it in Harry Potter (most of the latter books), Lord of the Rings, etc. I felt like the author was creating the world for the reader, and it doesn't give much room for imagination that does *not* match another reader's imagination. If that makes any sense. I wanted to create a story where anything that wasn't important simply wasn't described. Aisha's physical appearance is extremely vague and her age is never mentioned. For this story, readers should be able to glean clues that give a general idea and imagine what they want. I've heard people give Aisha's age anywhere between 16-25, but you see, there is a specific range due to the clues in the story.

Aisha is a ditz (sheeple, boring, stupid)
Yes. Well, I might not agree with stupid. My intention with this character was NOT to make the courageous, brave, super, clever, heroic protagonist that saves the world. I really wanted to write a story from the point of view of a *side* character. Did I succeed? Well, maybe. Do people like it? Umm...

Good vs Evil
This is one of the themes that really bothers me in fantasy stories. Not much more to say about this since avoiding it colors most of my work.

What happened to Dan when.../What is a truth-seer/What is Eltoran/etc
If you want to email me to ask specific questions like these, for some of them I do have an answer or a partial answer. If I have enough interest, I'll add it here. For others, well, the answer is unfortunately: I don't know. Imagine it. Aisha doesn't know everything, so the reader isn't exposed to everything.
